Participating individual health insurance carriers for 2018 differ geographically across Virginia. United Health and Aetna will no longer offer any individual plans on the Exchange for 2018. Optima and Anthem have cut the number of counties and cities they cover in half. These changes have significantly reduced carrier choices and time to make a decision with the Open Enrollment period decreasing from 90 to 45 days.
